“Before implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Online (Cloud) with anaptis GmbH, we had been using the ERP system abas since 2008. However, over the years, the system was heavily customized to meet our specific needs, which made updates increasingly difficult. For this reason, a new ERP system was necessary, as alternatives like SAGE, SAP, or a fresh installation of abas were not suitable for us. Our top priorities for the new solution were a standard-compliant, cloud-based ERP system, with customizations limited to our master data. Additionally, we wanted any program changes to be added to our processes rather than integrated directly into the workflows. Ultimately, we were convinced by the standard-compliant ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, as it requires no installation and allowed us to run initial tests within 30 minutes using the free Cronus demo environment.”

“First, we researched potential ERP providers online. We found anaptis via Google and shortlisted them. In addition to anaptis, we contacted two other companies. The initial contact with anaptis was promising and friendly. We immediately had a good feeling about working with them: a mid-sized partner who speaks our language and communicates at eye level.”

Implementation: Business Central (Cloud)

“The implementation of Dynamics 365 Business Central Online was carried out in classic agile sprints. We conducted extensive testing beforehand and closely involved our key users. The key user group met weekly and supported other employees. Since two of our colleagues at Marburger are not only skilled in programming but also have a deep understanding of all processes, we were able to communicate our requirements to the consulting team in a very precise and structured way. This provided a solid foundation for getting to know the new ERP system. We involved all users only six weeks before go-live, which meant we moved at a fast pace during the ERP transition. We also informed all partners that some processes would only be switched over four weeks after go-live.

Automated processes through smart integrations

Our ERP partner anaptis connected several smart add-ons for us, automating numerous processes within our company. These include the Tasklet Mobile WMS add-on – a warehouse scanner – and the Business Print Agent from 365 Business Development for printer integration, especially for labels. When it came to mapping the warehouse for our repair workshop, anaptis guided us effectively to help us work with the standard system. As an additional interface, anaptis recommended Power Automate to centrally manage exports for Amazon, the webshop, and EDI. Furthermore, anaptis developed a custom packing station for parcel shipping within Dynamics 365 Business Central (not a plugin), which then calls the standard programs of DHL, DPD, and UPS. Adjustments in goods receipt and dispatch also improved handling. Additionally, we were able to link other products from the Power Platform, such as Power Apps, with our Dynamics 365 Business Central. For our branches, we designed an app that provides an overview of repairs. We also now have a service order history, allowing status updates to be stored in an additional database throughout the repair process. Moreover, anaptis implemented our entire reporting system exclusively using Power BI.”
