ERP Standard Solution instead of Rigid Industry Solution

We have not committed ourselves to specific sectors. Nevertheless, we now have a number of customers with their own (complex) logistics sector or even logistics customers and are very familiar with the challenges in this area. What is our approach to ERP software for logistics? In a nutshell: We always use the standard ERP solution Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly Dynamics NAV/Navision) as a basis and add other technologies such as Microsoft Office 365, the Microsoft Power Platform and industry-specific add-ons. If necessary, we can also program individual adaptations for you. This is what sets us apart from our competitors. Your system remains updatable and you remain independent of the partner company.

Experience has shown that we can map the majority of our projects in the Dynamics 365 Business Central standard. The system standard includes all processes (e.g., finance, warehouse).


If the standard solution is not sufficient, we can easily solve some challenges with add-ons and Microsoft products (e.g., Microsoft 365, Microsoft Power Platform).

Supply-Chain Connectivity

In logistics, it is crucial to connect all activities along the supply chain to ensure an efficient process from inquiry to disposition, warehousing, and invoice verification.
With Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can easily link your departments and thus connect your supply chain. This allows you to benefit from seamless processes within the ERP, starting from procurement to goods receipt and warehousing. Smart reports and recommendations complement this area. Your data is available to you in real-time and regardless of location, enabling you to keep track of all important activities as well as your inventory and movements.

Here are some popular customizations and enhancements:

  • Document management (interface/add-on)

    For professional document management, we offer you an interface to third-party software (e.g., D3) or the fully integrated solution Document Capture. Manage documents anytime, anywhere.

    With the Continia Document Output add-on, you gain a software solution for managing digital file outputs from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The add-on saves you time and reduces your complex manual processes, helping you keep track of all sent and created documents.

  • Purchasing association (interface)

    We can program an interface to a purchasing association of your choice.

  • Licensing of sales packaging (customization)

    For ecological reasons, companies should or must be able to document which packaging they bring into circulation. The Packaging Act (VerpackG) even legally requires the recycling of most sales packaging. This obliges manufacturing companies and other distributing companies (or trading companies) to participate in a dual system for the packaging they issue.

    We have extended the system standard for several of our customers so that they can directly record the necessary data on sales packaging in the system. We also programmed an evaluation in Dynamics 365 Business Central/NAV that provides all delivered sales packaging with date, weight, and packaging type as a table. This data can be used to report to the “DerGrünePunkt” system.

  • Shipping and label printing (add-on)

    For optimal shipping handling and label printing, we offer an interface to the Comsol Multiship add-on.

  • Webshop (interface)

    To allow you as a wholesale company to sell your products online, we can program an interface to software of your choice (e.g., shopware, XT-Commerce, Intershop). This integrates your processes.

    Note: The Shopify connector is already included in the standard version of Dynamics 365 Business Central.

  • Customs declaration (add-on)

    With the Comsol Exposys Customs Atlas AES add-on, exporting companies can report their exports to the Atlas procedure of the German customs administration directly from Dynamics 365 Business Central. The entire declaration (MRN), approval process, export accompanying document (ABD), and export proof are transparently available to all responsible employees in sales and shipping digitally.

Managing Warehouse

Warehouse management plays a crucial role in logistics, balancing the need to keep costs low while optimizing organization.

Dynamics 365 Business Central facilitates intelligent warehouse management through a connected supply chain, offering transparent inventory control. You can easily and intuitively view and manage warehouse activities at any time – even on mobile devices. You can accurately represent your warehouse structure by creating multiple warehouses and different locations within each warehouse. Chaotic warehousing and consignment warehouses are also possible.

Here are some popular customizations and enhancements:

  • Pick-by-voice picking (interface)

    We can program an interface to the pick-by-voice solution of your choice, allowing for paperless picking systems.

  • Multi-stage picking (customization)

    To save time and costs by reducing travel paths, multiple outbound orders can be combined into a single picking order. For example, outbound orders with items stored in the same or nearby shelves are grouped. Warehouse staff use a cart with multiple color-coded bins, each designated for a different order. The ERP system determines the most efficient path, and staff receive instructions on a mobile device indicating which shelf to go to, which items to pick, and which color-coded bin each item belongs in.

  • Kitting (customization)

    In the standard version of Dynamics 365 Business Central, an assembly order is broken down into individual items during picking. With our customization, this breakdown occurs one step earlier during kitting.

  • Pallet movements (customization)

    If necessary, we can program a customization to track pallet movements:

    • How many pallets do we owe to the customer?
    • Have we delivered the pallets to the customer?
    • How many pallets does the customer owe us?
    • Have we received the pallets from the customer?
  • Pallet management (customization)

    When goods are shipped on pallets via freight, it’s important to know the size and weight of the pallets to inform the freight company. Additionally, goods need to be flexibly distributed on pallets.

    We can program a customization for easy pallet organization and management. This allows you to determine the dimensions and total weight. Creating pallet loading lists and bills of materials for pallet construction is also possible.

  • Perpetual inventory (customization)

    Conducting period-based inventories often requires shutting down business operations for hours or days and hiring external service companies for counts. This effort can be minimized with perpetual inventory. We offer a solution that can be used parallel to daily operations in Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly Dynamics NAV/Navision). Inventory staff receive a personal stack of count lists (exported from Dynamics 365 Business Central). After counting – For example, using a scanner – The data is recorded and transferred back to the standard system.

  • Tasklet Factory (add-on)

    Tasklet Factory enables mobile data collection and warehouse management on-site by scanning product barcodes and synchronizing warehouse data in real-time in Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV.

Connecting Tools/EDI

In logistics, it’s crucial to connect third-party systems or tools for electronic data interchange (EDI). This includes data exchange with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, authorities, and logistics partners.

  • Electronic data interchange (add-on)

    With Anveo EDI, you can easily exchange data:

    • with your customers (e.g., orders, invoices, credit notes, delivery notifications, item data, availability, prices),
    • with partner companies (better business relationships through automated processes),
    • with suppliers (e.g., order processing, confirmations, availability, or delivery notes), or
    • between locations/companies (e.g., financial data and item information).
  • Fulfillment (interface)

    We can program an interface to a fulfillment service provider of your choice.

Providing Service

Customers expect short delivery times, real-time shipment tracking, availability from stock, various delivery options (pickup, delivery, collection), personalized product variants, 24/7 online ordering, and hassle-free returns handling.
Dynamics 365 Business Central also provides basic CRM data to help you acquire and retain customers. You can manage prospects and existing customers efficiently, covering the entire customer relationship from the initial contact to the completion of an order. All data is stored in a single system, including contact details, payment information, orders, emails, and sales statistics.

In addition, integrating extensions such as route planning logistics software or shipping management software is common. The following customizations are also popular and available:

  • Create orders from order history (customization)

    For sales personnel, it is beneficial to have the current order history of a customer automatically displayed. We can program a custom feature that allows you to directly view the order history of your customers and create new orders from it.

    For example, during a phone call with a customer, you can enter the desired details for the new order. This eliminates the need to switch between the order history and order creation screens, which would otherwise be necessary without this customization.

  • Mobile sales app (add-on)

    With the Anveo Mobile App, your employees can easily access Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly NAV/Navision) while on the go, regardless of network coverage and even offline. This module is ideal for field service employees and service technicians.

  • Route planning (interface)

    For optimal route planning, we implement an interface to software of your choice (e.g., Wanko, PTV). This allows you to optimize your routes across personnel.

  • Product variant configurator (add-on)

    With our anaptis Configuration app, you can easily create your own product variants with individual assembly bills of materials.

  • Shipping tracking (interface)

    For shipping tracking, we can program an interface to a system of your choice (e.g., DPD).
